Inter Lake hosts online forum with Kalispell candidates
The Daily Inter Lake is hosting an online forum tonight with candidates vying to serve on the Kalispell City Council.
The virtual forum will be held live on Zoom, and will be broadcast live on the Daily Inter Lake’s Facebook page. It begins at 7 p.m., and is expected to end at about 8:30 p.m. A video of the forum will also be posted to the Daily Inter Lake website.
Participating candidates will answer pre-written questions from the newspaper's editorial staff and reader-submitted questions. The questions will be on timely topics relevant to the city. Candidates will not be provided the questions in advance.
Daily Inter Lake Managing Editor Matt Baldwin will moderate the discussion.
Tonight's forum is for City Council candidates only. Another virtual forum with the mayoral candidates is slated for Oct. 28.
In Ward 2, incumbent Chad Graham is challenged by Gabe Dillon.
Former Kalispell council member Rod Kuntz has thrown his hat in the ring for Ward 3, where he’ll face a challenge from Jessica Dahlman.
Ward 4 will see a two-way battle between Jed Fisher and Angela Kennedy.
Incumbent Sandra Carlson is running unopposed to retain her Ward 1 seat. She let the Inter Lake know she is unavailable to participate in the forum.
Absentee ballots for the Nov. 2 municipal election were mailed to Kalispell voters last week. Kalispell voters who wish to vote in person can do so at the Trade Center at the Flathead County Fairgrounds. Poll hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
