Ronan woman killed, boy injured in Lake County crash
Two people were killed in separate crashes Tuesday in Northwest Montana.
A 37-year-old Ronan woman died after crashing her Mazda CX-7 in Lake County. A 4-year-old boy was in the vehicle and was sent to Logan Heath Medical Center.
The woman was driving north on Timberland Road at about 3 p.m. when the vehicle veered off the road and hit a tree head-on for unknown reasons. She was declared dead at the scene.
The driver was wearing a seat belt and the boy was buckled up with a booster seat.
A Montana Highway Patrol report says speed is a suspected factor in the crash. Road conditions were dry.
A 38-year-old Billings man died Tuesday when he drove his Chevrolet Malibu off I-90 for unknown reasons. He crashed into some trees and was pronounced dead on the scene.
The crash happened at 12:45 p.m. near Superior. He was not wearing a seat belt, and speed and alcohol are suspected factors in the crash, according to a Montana Highway Patrol report. Road conditions were dry.
