WTC presents Okaidja Afroso Trio tonight

The Whitefish Theatre Company presents the Okaidja Afroso Trio at 7:30 p.m. tonight, Oct. 28, at the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish.

The dynamic ensemble of musicians is known for its spicy fusion of traditional and contemporary African rhythms. A family-friendly concert, Okaidja is an Afro-pop singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Ghana, West Africa. His trio features diverse, unexpected cross-cultural flavors of folk, blues and pop. Okaidja sings most of his hypnotic arrangements in his native language, yet the

meanings of the songs shine in the stories he tells of his people, their journeys, and the African diaspora. Okaidja is known for his smooth compositions, soulful vocals, and spirited dancing.

Tickets are $30 for adults and $20 for students with reserved seating. Tickets can be purchased at the box office, 1 Central Ave., Whitefish, or by calling 406-862-5371. Box office hours are from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and one hour before a performance. Tickets can also be purchased online at

Hockaday’s Members Salon 2022 deadline approaching

The Hockaday Museum of Art invites all current artist members to participate in its annual Members Salon exhibition. The deadline to apply for its Members Salon 2022 is Nov. 15.

This community favorite exhibition provides an opportunity for artists of all ages and skill level to exhibit recent work together. Visual arts of all styles and mediums will be on view, including paintings, sculpture, photography, drawing and more.

The Members Salon also includes a People’s Choice Award for first, second and third prizes. Voting opens to the public beginning at the opening reception Jan. 13. Voting ends Feb. 3.

First Place award is $250, second place is $100, and third place is $50.

Artwork may be dropped off at the museum between Dec. 13 and 23.

The exhibit’s opening reception will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 13.
