2 teens killed, 2 injured in Powell County crash
Two teenagers died and two others were injured in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning in Powell County.
According to a Montana Highway Patrol report, a 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl from Deer Lodge died at the scene of the wreck just after midnight on North Frontage Road near Deer Lodge. A 19-year-old man and 17-year-old girl from Deer Lodge were taken to Deer Lodge Medical Center.
According to the report, the vehicle was southbound on Frontage Road when the driver failed to negotiate a sharp curve. The driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to slide off the road into a ditch and roll multiple times.
Three occupants were ejected and none of the four were wearing a seat belt. The report indicates that alcohol and speed are suspected factors in the crash.
