• SACRED WATERS BREWING COMPANY of Kalispell won five awards at 1the 1th Denver International Beer Competition on Oct. 16. The local brewery earned a gold medal for its Bull Trout Coffee Stout and silver medals for four other beers: Deep Waters Double IPA, Meadow Creek Amber, Lil’ Salmon Fire Pepper Ale and Party Hat Barrel-Aged Sour. Sacred Waters’ drinks were selected from 800 beers made by more than 300 breweries in the competition.
• EMILY MADIEROS, graduate of the first senior class at Glacier High School in 2009, a graduate of Carroll College and MBA graduate of Lindenwood University, has become the new owner of Velvet Bride, a bridal boutique in downtown Missoula. She has been active as a wedding and event planner for the past five years in the Flathead Valley and all around the state of Montana. She now lives in Missoula.

• DR. BLAKE SAMPSON has joined Dermatology Associates as a provider in its Kalispell clinic.
Sampson is a board-certified dermatologist and a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery. His areas of interest include Mohs micrographic surgery, facial reconstruction, cosmetic and procedural dermatology, and high-risk skin cancer.
