Bear Aware Hike set for Saturday
Whitefish Legacy Partners and Counter Assault will host an interactive hike on the Whitefish Trail from noon-2 p.m. Saturday.
The bears are gearing up for winter during this time of year, so come out to Lion Mountain to learn about bear behavior, habitat, safety, and how to discharge inert bear spray canisters. The hike will be about 1-2 miles.
This event is free and open to the public however registration is required and attendance is limited.

Backcountry Horsemen of Flathead chainsaw course
The Backcountry Horsemen of the Flathead will hold a chainsaw certification course Saturday, Sept. 18.
It will be held at the Hungry Horse Ranger Station. This will be for people who need to be certified as well as for those who need to be recertified.
