Kathleen Hayes Longfield, 70

Kathleen Hayes Longfield passed away on Aug. 16, 2021, with her sons by her side.

She was born March 10, 1951, to Barney and Muriel Hayes in Kalispell.

She attended St. Matthew’s and Flathead High and throughout her life worked several jobs in the Flathead, including Thomas Printing, Evergreen Pharmacy, home health care, and finally as a carrier for the Missoulian.

Anyone who knew Kathy knew her dogs were her family. She spent many hours at the Old Steel Bridge with her dogs and befriended like-minded people there. She was also known for her cinnamon rolls, potato salad, shrimp dip, and huckleberry crumb cake and enjoyed sharing with her friends and family.

She is survived by her two sons, Michael, and Todd and his wife Shannon; grandchildren, Jessica, Cameron (Brittany), Michaella and Jordan; and a great-grandson, Oliver; also, her sister, Sandi French; nieces, Kayley Robertson and Cindy Parsons; nephews, Kevin French, Dion Redinger, and Robert Howard; and many great-nieces and -nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister LouAnne Howard, and a nephew Kenny Howard.

There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, Sept. 25, at 1 p.m. at Lawrence Park in Kalispell.

Because of her love for animals, to honor Kathy the family requests that everyone treat pets with kindness and support your local animal shelters.
