Dennis attended Smith Valley School and then St. Matthew’s through the eighth grade where he played on St. Matthew’s first football team for years and later assisted with Coach Gene Boyle. He graduated from Flathead High School where he played football and basketball. Dennis loved his baseball and played Pee Wee Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth Baseball, playing on several All Star teams. He played Lakers Baseball briefly and enjoyed umpiring both Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth with his father.

Dennis loved to travel, travel to spring baseball training in Phoenix, travel to Seattle to watch the Mariners, and trips to see new places like Washington, D.C. What he really wanted to do was see his Cleveland Browns play. This was right up his alley with being a champion of the underdogs.

Dennis loved being in service to people and was employed first at Target, then in the hospitality industry at the Red Lion and lastly at the Holiday Inn Express.

Dennis truly loved everyone. He always after meeting someone would consider them a friend and when describing them would start with, “My friend.” Dennis many times found the schoolmate that looked lonely and become their friend. He was the ultimate really good guy. He liked everyone and everyone loved him. If anything, he showed us how someone should treat their fellow man. His smiling face and hugs will be missed by all. He is the archangel of hugs in heaven.

There will be a celebration of Dennis' Life on Saturday, Sept. 25, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Buffalo Hill Golf Course Clubhouse.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials to be sent to Kidsports, P.O. Box 1205, Kalispell MT 59903.
