Lauralee Drake, 84

Lauralee Drake passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on Sept. 24, 2021, in Kalispell. Lauralee was born in Kalispell on August 18, 1937, to David Mitton and Rachel Wise. Her family moved to California when she was a child, which she always referred to as her home. She was a very intelligent woman who went to business college and successfully ran multiple businesses in California and Montana. Lauralee built and managed the Bayshore Resort and Motel in Lakeside for many years until she sold it to retire and spend more time with loved ones.

Lauralee was a devoted mother and grandmother, who made sure the ones she loved were well taken care of. She loved to go dancing and joined many clubs to play games with her “girlfriends.” Some of her favorite things to do were shopping and spending time at the ocean. Everyone who knew her commented on her great sense of humor, and how fun it was to be in her presence. She will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Rachel Mitton; her sister, Merlene Mitton; son. Gregory Brown; daughter, Linda Brown; and husband, Rodney Drake.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Dalton Hill, Carlee Stoller, Morgan Crevier, Jenny Profitt, their spouses and children, cousins, nieces and nephews. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of all those who knew and loved her.

A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Wednesday. Oct. 6, at the Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home. All those who knew Lauralee and wish to attend are welcome.
