William “Bill” George Bruce, 78, passed away April 2, 2022.

He was born Feb. 8, 1944, in Great Falls to Herb and Dorothy Bruce.

In 1963, Bill started his 41-year career with the BNSF Railroad as a district lineman. It was through this career that he met and married the love of his life, Rose. Bill enjoyed reading, hunting, golfing, and was an avid bowler. He bowled his entire life, including 44 years with Rose, and he was the first person to bowl a 300 game on a sanctioned league at the Pin & Cue in Whitefish. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to joke and make people laugh. He had a witty comeback for just about everything.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Rose Bruce (Herman); daughter, Shelly Hobbs; daughter, Lorrie Jones (Eddie); three grandchildren, Shelby Fitchett (Matthew), Jordan Jones, and Jaycee Jones; and great-granddaughter, Rylee Fitchett.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by sister, Donna; and brother, Richard.
