| April 14, 2022 12:00 AM

The Wolfpack Theatre Company at Glacier High presents the action-packed children’s adventure “The Island of Dr. Libris” April 18 and 19. Curtain time is 6:33 p.m. in the Wolfpack Theatre at Glacier High School.

Tickets, which are $7 for adults and $5 for children, students and senior citizens, are available at the GHS Main Office and Photo Video Plus. Any remaining tickets will be sold at the door.

Young Billy Gillfoyle is spending an internet-free and video game-free summer in a lakeside cabin owned by the mysterious Dr. Libris. It doesn’t take long for Billy to realize there is something special and even magical about the cabin; especially Dr. Libris’ bookcase. Every time Billy opens a book, he can hear strange sounds coming from the middle of the lake. The clash of swords. The twang of arrows. Sometimes he can even feel the ground shake. It’s as if the stories he’s reading are coming to life. Navigating the twists and turns of his imagination, it’s up to Billy to come up with a happy ending for everybody, including himself.

“The process has been a blast for everyone involved and I hope the production captures the spirit of the book and the script,”director Greg Adkins said. “There will be plenty of ‘audience-interaction’ in this show.”

Written by Chris Grabenstein, “The Island of Dr. Libris” is a New York Times bestseller that is full of classic legends including Robin Hood and Hercules, as well as a few comic book heroes and villains. It harnesses the imaginative powers of live theater to create a magical adventure for all ages.

The technical crew includes Fiona Fuller, Zephy Hanson, Bridgett Meskis, Elise Plum, Maeve Kintzler, Aysha McCubbins, Madi Stumer, Kiya Warner, Leah Esser, Mallory Browning, Drew Crane and Jack Melnick.
