Spartans down Flathead softball

MISSOULA — Stella Summerfield threw a five-inning one-hitter for Missoula Sentinel, and the Spartans downed Flathead 21-1 in softball Wednesday with walks and a handful of hits.

The Bravettes (1-7 overall, 1-4 in the Western AA) issued 15 walks and hit five batters. Summerfield helped her own cause with two hits and three runs driven in; Amy Taylor and Morgan Olson also drove in three runs for the Spartans (7-3, 5-0).

Flathead got its lone run in the third when Macy Craver’s triple drove in Brynn Mailman.

Flathead is back in action Thursday, playing at crosstown rival Glacier at 4:45 p.m.
