WHITEFISH — The Glacier Twins managed just four hits, but didn’t need any to score nine first-inning runs in a 13-3 Legion baseball win over Cranbrook, B.C. on Saturday.

Eight walks, four hit batsmen and one error did the damage to the Bandits. Mason Peters walked twice and scored twice in the frame.

Mikey Glass, Josiah Ruther and Talon Murphy combined to allow just four Cranbrook hits. Glass and Ruther each struck out four in two innings of work.

Hayden Meehan’s two-run single sparked a 3-run fifth inning that ended the game under the mercy rule.

The Bandits — Canadian teams currently play all their Legion games in the United States because of Covid-19 rules — walked no one after the first inning, but hit four more Twins with pitches.

Kellen Kroger scored three times for Glacier, and Meehan finished with three RBIs. The Twins stay home to face Mission Valley Wednesday, at 6:30 p.m.
