BILLINGS — The Billings Mustangs hit three solo home runs, including Jalen Garcia’s tie-breaking shot in the fourth inning, to beat Glacier 5-2 Tuesday in Pioneer League baseball.

Gabe Wurtz homered in the second inning as the Mustangs erased a 1-0 deficit; Garcia’s homer made it 2-1 and started a three-run outburst at Dehler Park. Brian Parreira hit a home run in the sixth to put Billings up 5-1.

The Range Riders (4-9) got little going offensive against Mustang starter Kenny Serwa (1-1) and two relievers. McLain Harris three three innings and Hunter DePrimo took over in the ninth and earned the save.

The Range Riders’ first run came on a Sam Linscott double play grounder — leadoff man Ben McConnell, who’d singled and stole second, scored — in the first. In the seventh Livingston Morris doubled and came in on Eddie McCabe’s single. McCabe had three hits.

The teams play again Wednesday night at 7:05.
