BILLINGS — The Glacier Range Riders took a 3-0 lead Friday, then made up a three-run deficit but in the end fell 10-7 to the Billings Mustangs in Pioneer League baseball.

Livingston Morris got the Range Riders (5-11 this half) off to a fine start, clubbing a three-run homer, his 10th, in the second inning. By the fifth, though, the visitors trailed 6-3 with the Mustangs (8-8) scoring three unearned runs thanks in part to two Glacier errors.

Jalen Garcia’s RBI triple had Billings up 7-4 going to the seventh, which is where Morris added a two-out RBI single to score Ryan Cash, who’d walked.

Ryan Cole followed with a grounder to third that was thrown away for an error, and that scored two runs to knot it at 7-all.

Billings got those runs right back: Abraham Mow hit a three-run homer to left off reliever Isaiah Henry to put the Mustangs ahead for good.

Sam Linscott and Cole had two hits each for the Range Riders, who went 1-3 on their trip to Billings. Both teams came to Flathead Field Saturday for a short two-game set; Sunday’s game is at 1:05 p.m.
