| August 7, 2022 12:00 AM

James Stanley Lanktree was born of parents Stanley A. and Eva D. Lanktree in Baker, Montana, Dec. 1, 1934, and died in Whitefish July 27, 2022.

Though living in this valley some 60 years, James lived and worked previously in Baker, Eureka, California and Great Falls. James was a keen hunter/marksman, fisherman, outdoors man and family man. He was among the most avid of fishermen; it was the thing he missed most once his health would no longer allow it.

James is survived by his children, Robert, Scott, Keven and Theresa, as well as 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service held for James 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 8, at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery. Following the graveside service there will be a gathering 11 a.m. at the main pavilion at Woodland Park. Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for the family.
