Whitefish Huckleberry Days this weekend

The 33rd Annual Huckleberry Days Arts Festival is this Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Depot Park, bringing more than 100 art, craft and food vendors together in downtown Whitefish.

Sponsored by Whitefish Credit Union and hosted by the Whitefish Chamber of Commerce, this year’s fest includes an array of original paintings, sculptures, garden art and jewelry, as well as photography, hand-thrown pottery, clothing and more.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Also back this year will be a diverse variety of food vendors.

Festival-goers can also enjoy impromptu performances by The Living Statue Friday and Saturday afternoons and by the Levitation Nation aerial dancersSaturday and Sunday. Kids can get involved with the Stumptown Art Studio’s Huck Days Art Project from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Kicking off the weekend, Glacier Bank of Whitefish be giving away free huckleberry ice cream at its downtown branch beginning at 10 a.m., while it lasts.

Whitefish City Beach will be hosting the annual “Swim the Fish” event, featuring one mile, half-mile and 5K (3.1 mile) races sponsored by The WAVE Aquatic & Fitness Center. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the race at 9 a.m. For more information or to register, visit www.whitefishwave.com.
