Marilyn Phyllis (Jelleff) Nylander Murer, 85, went home to heaven Aug. 5, 2022. She was a committed Christian and follower of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Marilyn was born March 9, 1937, the only child of Roderick “Rod” R. Jelleff and Maybelle B. Shaffroth and a granddaughter of Willis S. and Evalyn Jelleff. Grandparents homesteaded Cedar Island on Flathead Lake and resided there until their 14-year-old son Fancher drowned there.

Marilyn graduated from Bigfork schools in 1955 and eventually worked there as bookkeeper, clerk, secretary and librarian for 30 years, retiring in 1983. She was then employed at Kalispell Credit Bureau under five different managements.

Aug. 31, 2000, she married Loyal S. “Pinky” Murer who survives her at Rising Mountains Assisted Living. She felt so very blessed to have had two husbands so dear to her heart. Retirement years were spent keeping books for Bigfork Food Pantry. She also enjoyed belonging to Bigfork Puttering Potters Ceramic Group. Marilyn was an avid reader, loved camping, cribbage, family gatherings for holidays, making lefse and klube or potato dumplings. She sang in church choir, taught Sunday School and led Bible studies. She also enjoyed picnics in Glacier Park and boat trips on Flathead Lake.

Survivors include special nephew, James W. Holman and family, special niece Sharon Kinman and families, Randy W.
