Genevieve 'Genny' Regina Hoerner, 99
Genevieve “Genny” Regina Hoerner, 99, passed away on Aug. 17, 2022, at her home in Columbia Falls.
Genevieve was born to Michael and Katherine (Heier) Fetch on April 16, 1923, in Beulah, North Dakota. She met her husband Michael Hoerner while living in North Dakota; they eventually moved to Montana. They had five children, Gerald, Lucille, Diane, Donna and Darlene.
The couple lived in a mud hut with their children during the early years. They also survived the Flood of 1964 in Columbia Falls. She was a waitress most of her life, working at various places around town such as Pine’s Café and Paul Bunyan.
Genny was a collector of all, including angels, lawn ornaments, knickknacks and antiques. Her home was beautiful on the inside and outside, including her fake flowers in her garden.
She enjoyed camping, fishing, dancing, singing and country music. She also prayed every day. Most of all, she was loved by many and will be missed dearly.
Genny was preceded in death by her parents, husband Michael Hoerner, and daughters Donna Okness and Darlene Seivers.
She is survived by her children, Gerald Hoerner (Linda), Lucille Role (Ron), and Diane Konecky; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews, and her close friend Leona.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the BeeHive Homes for taking such good care of Genny.
