Law roundup: Boy escapes rocky situation
A boy hiding in some bushes near a high school was allegedly throwing rocks at passing vehicles and a woman told him to stop or she’d call the police, which she did. Kalispell Police Department officers were unable to locate the scamp.
A man wearing flip-flops, who seemed highly intoxicated, was reportedly wandering around in a fog and went into a pharmacy to buy needles when he fell down. Getting up, he staggered out of the store without purchasing the items and told someone he recently had foot surgery. The person asked officers to check on his welfare.
A man called the police alleging that someone broke into his house and took the hard drive out of his laptop after he noticed it wasn’t working. There were reportedly no signs of forced entry and he said no one should have been at the house where he lived alone with his cats.
A man reportedly passed out in a truck, which was blocking someone’s driveway. He did not move when they yelled at him. When he did finally respond, he said he was just sleeping, however, he seemed intoxicated and drove away.
A woman calling 911 reportedly went on a tirade about the government giving her “her money, title 5 paperwork and payout.” She said it was the dispatcher’s and Vice President Kamala Harris’ fault for “putting her on the street.”
An upset man wanted to know if it was legal to smoke marijuana in public, specifically, at one location. It wasn’t clear if he was upset because people were smoking weed, or because he wanted permission to partake. Officers left him a message.
A woman drove up to a business and allegedly saw an individual “passed out or dead” on the sidewalk with their legs hanging in the roadside. Officers checked the area and made contact with construction workers who said the person left before they arrived.
Someone allegedly found a man and woman with a camper, truck and motorcycle parked in a back lot in addition to a bag full of hypodermic needles. They called the police when the pair would not leave.
A woman reportedly walked by a man snoring as he slept in the grass in front of a building and she wanted officers to check on his welfare because it was not “a sleeping area.”
A woman claimed people were dealing drugs in an alley and teens were looking under vehicles to steal catalytic converters, but she didn’t actually see the alleged crimes happen. An officer told her there were limitations in what law enforcement could do in contacting individuals without probable cause. She lost her temper, saying the officer triggered her complex post-traumatic stress disorder and that she did not want to speak to them further.
A phone number associated with extensive 911 hang-ups and misdials was at it again when dispatchers reported another abandoned 911 call.
Tools and a guitar were reported stolen.
