Laurine Margaret Mace, 79

| August 28, 2022 12:00 AM

Laurine Margaret Mace, 79, of Whitefish, passed away Aug. 16, 2022.

She was born June 12, 1943, in Minot, North Dakota, to Leo and Frances Gates.

“Your Hug Meant the World, Nobody else held us so tight, Or made us feel so right. No one’s eyes shined so bright with love as our mom, who is now high above.”

The world lost a beloved mother. Laurine battled brain cancer, and died fighting, surrounded by her children Lory, Anthony, Andrew, Christine, James, Justin and Jason; she called them “The Magnificent 7.” Laurine enjoyed camping and supporting her children’s interests, and spending time with family and friends. She spent many years helping with baseball from Little League through Legion ball. She loved her flower boxes and decorating for the Christmas season. She was known for her kind soul, always willing to cheer anyone up with kisses, hugs, and little pinches.

Laurine is survived by her children, Lory Mace (Nancy), Tony Mace, Andy Mace (Darla), Chris Schwartzman (Chris), James Mace (Tammy), Justin Mace (Robyn), and Jason Mace (Torri); 11 grandchildren, Khayden, Andrew, Ciera, Tyler, Matt, Blake, Kevin, Kyle, Braden, Lillian and Margaret; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by brothers Loren and Lewis, and sister Loretta.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ardine Mace, and both her parents.

Heroes don’t need capes. Princesses don’t need crowns. Ardine and Laurine are proof, now rejoined on the grandest dance floor in the heavens’, living the best eternal life together once again.

Family and friends are invited to say a final goodbye and celebrate Laurine’s life at the Mace Family home of 54 years in Whitefish on Sept. 3 at 1 p.m.
