It was the second tough loss in five days for Glacier, which got two home runs from Brody Wofford and one each from Dean Miller and Brandt Broussard.

Broussard’s two-run shot in the eighth inning capped a 5-for-5 day and put the Range Riders (18-18 this half) up 10-5. Drew Sims’ RBI single made it 11-5 in the ninth.

Then Missoula (24-12) got hot against closer Justin Coleman, sending 11 men to the plate, starting with Brandon Riley’s leadoff double. A walk and seven more hits followed, with Andrew Noviello’s one-out, two-run single tying the game.

After Keaton Greenwalt fanned for the second out, Riley walked and Willman’s single ended it.

Thursday the Range Riders built a 3-0 lead going to the top of the ninth against Great Falls, only to see the Voyagers tie the game with a 3-run triple; Great Falls then won the Knockout Round.

Both Glacier and Missoula had 16 hits Monday, and Wofford, Mason Dinesen and Eddie McCabe each had two for Glacier.

Wofford hit his 18th homer, a two-run bomb, in the third inning; in the fifth Miller and Wofford hit back-to-back solo shots to put Glacier up 6-1. Miller’s homer was his 11th; Broussard hit his third.

Tanner Solomon started for Glacier and lasted 4 2-3 innings, allowing five hits, five walks and four runs, two earned. He fanned four.

Glacier continued a six-game set in Missoula Tuesday. The Range Riders return to Flathead Field for their final home series, against Great Falls, Sept. 5-7. They finish their season at Great Falls Sept.8-10.
