Sliter, Sellards, Shaw and Skonord garner first-team All-State for AA
Gage Sliter and Henry Sellards, two mainstays for the 2022 Glacier Wolfpack football squad, were named first-team All-State in voting by coaches across the class.
Sliter, a senior quarterback, and Sellards, a junior offensive tackle, were joined on the first team by teammate Cameron Shaw, a senior who was selected for his special teams play.
Flathead saw senior Nate Skonord make first-team All-State at punter; three more Braves were honored as well.
Sliter, who is headed to the Montana Grizzlies for football, led Class AA passers with 3,175 yards and 36 touchdowns. He helped the Pack go 7-4 and make the AA quarterfinals.
Shaw was one of seven Glacier players to make second-team All-State: He was selected at defensive end.
The others were Kaleb Shine at linebacker, Ben Winters at offensive tackle; TJ Gannon at center; Cohen Kastelitz at receiver; Kobe Dorcheus at fullback; and Jackson Hensley at running back.
Hensley is a senior. Winters and Dorcheus are sophomores. The rest are juniors.
Glacier had several more plays get honorable mention: Kaid Buls at receiver and punter; Rhett Measure at kicker; Isaac Keim at defensive line; Alex Hausmann at cornerback and Kash Goicoecheau at nickel and kick returner. Buls is the only senior in that bunch.
Skonord started a pair of games at quarterback while also booming punts for the Braves, who had three second-team All-State selections.
Those were junior Gabe Sims at tight end, junior Tanner Heichel at cornerback and senior Jackson Walker for all-purpose/offense. Walker started seven games at QB for Flathead and led the team in rushing as well as passing.
The complete All-State list is on page B3. The All-Western AA honors teams will run in Sunday’s Daily Inter Lake.
