Jacob Owens, 33

Jacob Lee Sherman Owens, 33, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2022 in a vehicle accident in Sagle, Idaho. A celebration of life will be held this spring.

Jacob was born on March 10, 1989 in Spokane, Washington to David Owens and Danene (Davis) Thornton. He grew up in Spokane and graduated from University High School in 2007. Jacob served his country in the United States Navy.

Jacob married Colleen Roberts on Dec. 23, 2007. He received his lineman license and was a journeyman sheet metal worker. He also worked construction.

Jacob helped his grandfather, Jack Owens, start the “Big Back In” lawn mower races in Spirit Lake, Idaho. The love of his life was his children and family. He loved music and enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, swimming, playing video games and collecting old tools, Coca-Cola antiques and Mario Bros.

He is survived by his wife Colleen Owens of Spokane; his three children Kaylee, Brody and Zayden Owens; his mother Danene Thornton of Bigfork; his father David (Ronnie) Owens of Spirit Lake; his grandmother Lynn Weed of Bigfork; his three sisters Jessica Blodgett of Bigfork, Skylar Owens of Spokane, and Brittney Watkins of Missoula; his good friend Jenna Toole of Columbia Falls and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
