Law roundup: Man takes a stab at robbing store
A man with tattooed knuckles, a goatee, black boots and a big camo backpack reportedly stole lighters and other items without paying. Someone said they had also seen him with a samurai sword.
The same man took things up a notch when officers received a later call about him allegedly going into a store brandishing the samurai sword and threatening to chop people if he didn’t get the items he wanted without paying. He left with super glue and a pair of gloves. Kalispell Police Department located the man and notified the jail about the new arrival.
A man, who moved here from out of state and hadn’t yet changed his license plates, reportedly sought officers’ advice and said he didn’t want any trouble after experiencing the Kalispell welcome wagon in the form of an angry driver who rolled down their window, flipped him off, called him names and telling him to go back to Texas after a vehicle incident.
An officer made contact with a group allegedly playing around with a bow and arrow they found and disposed of it.
An older woman complained about a neighbor smoking “very powerful” marijuana in the apartment across for her and said it was causing problems for her.
Someone called the police complaining that they don’t like to see sleeping transients in the park gazebo.
Trash was reportedly piling up on a sidewalk near a red pickup parked where the curb is painted yellow. The parking was an ongoing issue.
A man was allegedly yelling and harassing post office customers. Officers located the man and counseled him.
An apartment manager told officers that a tenant’s sister needed to be removed from the property because she was trespassing. She claimed her sister subleased the residence to her, but she was unable to provide any documentation and the information was contrary to what her sister said.
A no-parking sign was knocked over.
A woman was suspicious that someone was disabling vehicle key fobs as part of a plan to steal things. She said she replaced her key fob at the dealership and went to a store where it stopped working again. She claimed the cashier said the same thing happened to six coworkers. Officers checked the store parking lot but didn’t see anyone checking door handles.
A woman reported losing her leather brown purse at the mall and thought it was stolen by two teens circling a photo booth like sharks, where she was getting pictures taken.
A possibly underage female was seen stealing beer on store security footage.
