Law roundup: Man’s battle cry, ‘Respect your neighbors’
A man trying to sleep was reportedly kept awake by noisy vehicles circling the block and parking the wrong way on the street and called the Kalispell Police Department three times to complain. Officers made contact with people and homeowners involved in the situation two separate times, yet the noise continued. He told officers he had work in the morning and did not want to, “wear bracelets for an angry contact with the neighbors,” and that he was “past reasonable measures in dealing with these individuals.”
By the time the man called the third time, the officer he wanted to speak to was out on a high-priority call so he said he would go to be and wanted a call the next day because he was going to do whatever it took “to get these little p----- to respect their neighbors.”
Four men allegedly went into a man’s place of work and one of them asked if he wanted to die. One of the men was wearing a holstered pistol on his hip. He left to avoid further conflict in his workplace and requested a ride to a motel. He didn’t know the man who threatened him but thought he might have a girlfriend who worked at a neighboring business. He also noted that he says Merry Christmas to the local businesses.
A woman allegedly called 911 from the police department’s lobby phone, saying she did not get her phone back after a disturbance at Depot Park and claimed officers stole the phone by giving her jacket to a friend.
An employee wrapped an injured mallard duck in a towel and put it in a box because they didn’t know what to do with it. The duck, which was bleeding and couldn’t fly, was dispatched due to the severity of its injuries after a rescue organization said it wasn’t taking ducks due to avian flu going around the valley.
A man reportedly stopped his vehicle in the middle of the road.
A green van was allegedly swerving all over the road.
A passerby asked officers to check on the welfare of a person stretched out in planters, sleeping under a raincoat.
Two women and a man were arguing in a parking lot when a passerby allegedly saw him grabbing at one of the women.
A gray Honda Accord was reportedly swerving all over the road before turning into a high school parking lot and sitting there with its headlights on.
A man staying with someone was allegedly getting aggressive with his host after a day of working together and they wanted to talk to an officer about the issue.
A patient reportedly threw an employee to the ground and punched her. He was secured in his room and the woman turned down medical attention.
Someone allegedly saw a man trying to open the doors of a closed business yelling he had too much to drink, couldn’t walk and needed help. The man then requested medical attention saying he was having diabetic issues and hadn’t taken any insulin that day.
One guy reportedly said something rude to another guy and so he said something rude back. That didn’t sit well with the alleged instigator who followed him into a bathroom and threatened to punch him. Afraid of what would happen when the staff didn’t kick the guy out he apologized and told officers things were “squashed for now.”
People reportedly attempted to go into a business and seeing it was closed began wandering around the parking lot, walking around bushes and hopping in and out of cars.
