Eureka boys top Buzz Lucey wrestling

EUREKA — Eureka had five boys champions and topped the field at the 2022 Buzz Lucey Tournament in its home gym on Saturday.

Eureka scored 205 points, well ahead of second-place Florence’s 154.5 and Superior’s 137.

Colin Hickman (103 pounds), Timothy Schmidt (113), Blake Lancaster (120), Caden Pecora (160) and Wes Banks (205) were individual winners for the Lions.

The Lady Lions ended up fourth, and Milynn Lucey won at 126 pounds.

Bigfork’s boys were fourth. Dale Relyea (182) was the Vikings’ only champion, and Evan Tidwell (170) and Angus Anderson (132) placed second.

Jaren Keene (170) and Daniel Peterson (145) were winners for Polson. On the girls side, Polson had a trio of second place finishes: Ciri Nice (107), Madilyn Huffine (120), and Cely DeBruin (126).

Bonners Ferry won the girls team title with 100 points. Florence was next at 64, and Polson scored 60 for third place.
