Law Roundup: Man taken to the cleaners by laundry thieves

A man reported getting cleaned out more than usual while washing his clothes at a local laundromat. He told the Kalispell Police Department that he left before his dryer load finished. When he returned he found his load removed and many articles of clothing missing. He turned to a clerk for help, but the employee lacked access to the security cameras.

Worried about a new friend, a local woman alerted local authorities to threats she was receiving. The caller told dispatchers that a man was threatening her friend, saying he would kill her if she didn’t leave the home. Officers met up with the supposed victim, who said the man wasn’t threatening her. Instead, he was asking that she not go to the hospital. The two are friends, she said, and he went back to his home.

A store employee contacted authorities after a group of teenagers began causing trouble behind the business’s building. The teens were performing burnouts in the employee parking lot, he said. Officers met up with several of the minors and told them to stop hanging out in the lot.

Someone worried about a pair of dogs, a pit bull and Australian shepherd, left out in the cold.

A motorist reported nearly hitting a man in a wheelchair navigating through traffic. She had to swerve around him after seeing him at the last second. The motorist described him as traveling against traffic.

Thieves stole a package left on an area resident’s porch. She recorded the theft on her camera.

A store owner contacted dispatch after spotting a suspicious looking individual hanging around his business. It was unclear if the individual was attempting to break into the store. He allegedly said he had left his bicycle at the location.

Someone stopped at the scene of a motor vehicle accident to tell responding officers that one or more individuals had tossed an object off of a bridge while they were driving underneath on the bypass. The object shattered the motorist’s windshield.

Teens allegedly harassing a man sleeping in his vehicle apparently pointed a gun at him overnight. The man told police he was unsure if the gun was fake or not, but said it looked like a real pistol.

A woman reported her daughter’s vehicle being impounded in Washington. Apparently the vehicle was stolen and police in that state had come across it.
