Pluid helps Eureka rally past Breakers

MISSOULA — Jadyn Pluid poured in 29 points, including two free throws with 7.4 seconds left, and Eureka rallied past Missoula Loyola in non-conference girls basketball action Tuesday.

Pluid scored 10 points in the fourth quarter, when the District 7-B Lions (10-4) made up a 50-41 deficit. She hit three 3-pointers — one cut the gap to 54-53 with 50 seconds left — and 10 of 12 free throws.

Kenney McCorkle hit three 3-pointers and scored 15 points for the Breakers, who sit atop the 6-B standings at 5-0 (7-5 overall). Loyola missed three front-end free throws in the fourth quarter and was 7 of 13 at the line for the game.

Hailey Ells added seven points for the Bulldogs (4-8 overall, 2-5 in league games), who outscored the Lady Pirates 33-13 over the final three quarters.

Turquoise Pierre’s nine points led Polson (4-11, 3-5).
