Marilyn Ruth Dunne, 82

| February 2, 2022 12:00 AM

Marilyn Ruth “Mickie” Hadorn Emmons McBride Dunne was born Oct. 2, 1939, to Frederick William Hadorn and Ruth Olga Samuelson Hadorn in Beattie, Kansas.

She died peacefully in her sleep at home in Marion Jan. 27, 2022.

She worked many jobs in her life but what she is most proud of was returning to school at age 61 and getting a license massage therapist certification and graduated with a 4.0 grade average. She was a strong, determined and opinionated spitfire who faced everything in life with gusto and fierce determination. She was cherished by her family and peacefully assured in her faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister Anna Lorene (Larry) Thomas.

She is survived by her sisters Helen Sorensen, and Pearlene “Peggy” McManus, her children Lorena Emmons, Rita Bader, Lynda Purdy, and Melody McBride, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and at least one great-great-grandchild.

She loved her faith, gardening, and writing country song lyrics and enjoyed singing. Her struggles are over and she has returned to the Father in heaven.

Memorial services will be at 301 W. Wyoming St. in Kalispell Saturday, Feb. 19, at noon, followed by a potluck luncheon in the basement of the church. (Thank you Mary and Rick Todd). We will be connecting via Skype and Zoom and recording in case anyone would like a copy or is not able to attend.

In lieu of flowers, perhaps a small tree that we can plant in her honor on the new land in the spring. Preference for locally hearty fruit trees, nut trees or any deciduous that is good for color. Any donations can be sent to 9390 Hwy. 2 W. Marion, MT 59925 and I will distribute to her ministers. Those of us with like faith can give to the work as they feel led.
