Shan O’Lea (Kienow) Jeschke, 76

| February 2, 2022 12:00 AM

Shan O’Lea (Kienow) Jeschke died Jan. 14, 2022, at age 76.

She was preceded by her parents Florence and Ferdinand Kienow; as well as her siblings, Alan, Stewart and Ronnie Kienow.

Shan was born and raised in Ipswich, South Dakota. She met and married John Jeschke of Roscoe, South Dakota. They moved to the Flathead Valley and had three children together, son Jody, daughter Dena, and son Chancy. She has many grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

Shan is a graduate of Ipswich High School in South Dakota. She eventually moved to Kalispell in the late 1960s. She then went on to work several years at the Daily Inter Lake (Kalispell). Shan spent many years volunteering at the Kalispell Regional Hospital. She moved back to Ipswich to take care of her mother, Florence Kienow. Shan eventually moved back to the Flathead to spend the rest of her time with her family. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, collecting antiques, and chickens. She loved and often told stories. Most redeemable were those about how she grew up on a farm, and thus often rode her horse to school, and had many precarious pets such as a pig and fox.

There will be an intimate funeral service held for her on a future date in Kalispell and Shan will later be laid to rest alongside her family in Ipswich.
