A Kalispell woman accused of threatening to kill Child and Family Services employees was taken into custody last week.

Michelle Sherry Rave, 43, was booked into the Flathead County Detention Center on Jan. 28, charged with felony intimidation. Bail was set at $150,000 with her arraignment scheduled for Feb. 24 in Flathead County District Court.

Charging documents allege that Rave sent threatening text messages regarding staff members at the Child and Family Services office in Kalispell. One message allegedly said, in part, “…I will kill every [expletive] in that [expletive] department…”

She also allegedly texted a photo of a handgun in a holster with a child in the background.

Charging documents further allege that one of Rave’s family members received a text with the same photo and a message that read, in part, “… I will take out the social workers guns blazing. I have nothing left to lose.”

Law enforcement put extra security measures in place due to the alleged threats.

If convicted, Rave faces up to 10 years in state prison and a $50,000 fine.

Child and Family Services provides state and federally mandated protective services to children who are abused, neglected or abandoned. The division is a part of the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services.

[This story has been updated to correct that court documents allege the reported text messages were sent to family members.]
