Libby takes down Columbia Falls boys

COLUMBIA FALLS — Tyler Andersen scored 12 points to lead a balanced Libby attack, and the Loggers used a strong second half to down Columbia Falls 52-44 in a Northwest A boys basketball game Thursday.

Andersen hit two 3-pointers in the third quarter as the Loggers (11-4 overall, 5-3 in the Northwest A) scored 22 points and surged to a 43-40 lead. Caden Williams added 10 points and Ryan Collins nine for Libby.

Jace Hill’s 15 points and six rebounds led the Wildcats (7-6, 2-5 in league).

EUREKA — Bodie Smith scored 22 points, eight in the fourth quarter, and Whitefish rallied past Eureka in the second half for a non-league win.

Talon Holmquist added 11 for the Northwest A Bulldogs (6-7).

Gavin Bates scored 17 points for the District 7-B Lions (7-8), nine in the fourth quarter.
