Northwest A Wildkats coast over Shelby

COLUMBIA FALLS — Lexi Olberholzer poured in nine points, freshman Emalee Alton had 10 boards and the Columbia Falls Wildkats downed the visiting Shelby Coyotes 46-37 in a nonconference girls basketball game Friday.

Olberholzer’s points included three 3’s and Alton also scored six points.

Hope McAtee added eight points for the Kats.

For the Coyotes, Lori Terry led with 10 points, and Adele Lamb checked in with eight.

The game was a makeup from last month and the matchup came about simply because both teams needed games on their schedules. Longtime Wildkats coach Cary Finberg remarked that before Friday, he had never faced Shelby in his career.

Columbia Falls travels to Shelby today for a 4 p.m. game.

WHITEFISH — A balanced attack led by 14 points from Jerel Whitegrass carried Browning to this Northwest A win.

Mecca Bullchild added nine points for the winners (10-2 overall, 6-1 in league), who opened up a 33-14 halftime lead.

Erin Wilde led Whitefish (5-9, 2-6 in league) with eight points.
