Cummings, Flathead boys break through at Sentinel

MISSOULA — The Flathead Braves are getting to be a tough number on the road, downing Missoula Sentinel 50-37 Saturday one day after a near-miss in Butte.

Noah Cummings had 10 points off the bench to lead a balanced Braves attack: Gavin Chouinard, Joston Cripe and Drew Lowry added nine points each.

Cripe all had all of his points in the first half as Flathead (2-11 overall, 2-7 in the Western AA) built a 27-19 lead. Cummings had five points as the gap grew to 38-25 after three quarters. Flathead’s other victory also came on the road, at Helena on Jan. 14; they had a late rally stall in a 61-55 loss Friday at Butte.

Kaden Sheridan and Peyton Stevens had nine points each for the Spartans (6-7, 5-4 in league).

Flathead’s next game is Friday at home against unbeaten Helena Capital, at 7:15 p.m.
