Ida Schroeder, 100

Ida Schroeder passed away on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022, at the age of 100.

Ida was born on May 16, 1921, in Kalispell to Carl and Lavina Fritz. She had a twin sister named Irene, older sister Marie, and two brothers Earl and Wayne. Ida attended Birch Grove School and Flathead County High.

She married William Schroeder on May 20, 1939. Ida and William had three sons. First born was Arthur, next came Victor, and lastly was James.

Ida was a hard worker. She worked at the local cherry warehouse, Bitneys Chicken House, and helped out around the farm.

Ida enjoyed sewing, baking and making quilts. She was involved in 4-H and later on enjoyed entering her quilting projects at the county fair and won several blue ribbons. Throughout Ida's life she had many pets including favorite dog Charlie and cow Elsie.

Ida loved spending time with her family. In her earlier years she loved to go snowmobiling and camping with her sons and grandchildren. In her later years you could often find her spending time with her great-grandchildren doing puzzles, picking flowers, and feeding them various sweets.

Ida was preceded in death by her parents, her four siblings, her husband William, and her son James.

She is survived by her son Arthur and wife Gloria of Kalispell, her son Victor and wife Christine of Yellow Bay, her grandsons Roger and wife Lori, and Jerry and wife Sydney, along with her great-grandchildren Madison, Sarah, Isaac and Wylie.

There will be a visitation held for Ida Tuesday, Feb. 8, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home, with services to be held following the visitation. Following the visitation there will be a light luncheon held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in the basement.
