FARMINGTON, Utah — The Montana men's tennis team landed its third Big Sky Player of the Week award in three weeks Tuesday, with freshman Gustav Theilgaard taking home the honor.

Theilgaard went undefeated in singles and doubles for the Griz in a week three sweep of Whitman and Whitworth in Missoula, shutting out each of his singles opponents 6-0 in all four sets. He allowed 13 points in two matches.

With UM off to its best start in program history at 6-0, Grizzly junior Lawrence Sciglitano earned the league's weekly accolade after week one and senior Ed Pudney earned it after week two.

Montana’s Brock shares Big Sky pitching honor

Montana sophomore Allie Brock, who went 3-0 at the season-opening Nor Cal Kickoff with a 0.82 ERA, is a Big Sky Conference co-Pitcher of the Week.

Brock and Portland State’s Olivia Grey, who shared this week’s honor, are two of 15 NCAA Division I pitchers who went 3-0 on opening weekend.

In the bottom of the second of Montana’s Nor Cal Kickoff opener, against San Jose State, Brock fanned three straight hitters with the bases-loaded, and retired 18 of the final 19 batters she faced in a 3-0 win. Brock went on to throw 17 innings in three games, allowing nine hits, four walks and two runs. She fanned 12.

Montana will play five games against North Texas, Nevada and Colorado State this weekend at the Tracy Beard College Classic in Melissa, Texas.
