A wanted Flathead Valley man accused of felony drug charges is behind bars again after he allegedly led law enforcement on a 50-mile high-speed chase last week.

Daniel Richard Stivason, 29, is being held in the Flathead County Detention Center, charged with felony criminal endangerment. Bail is set at $22,409.

Court documents state that on Feb. 12 a Flathead County Sheriff’s Office deputy saw a vehicle driven by Stivason speeding in the area of South Fork Road in Hungry Horse. Stivason turned onto U.S. 2 toward Columbia Falls and sped away at about 100 mph.

Stivason then turned on Montana 206, pulled a U-turn, and headed back on the U.S. 2 toward Hungry Horse.

Officers continued chasing his vehicle through the Canyon area at speeds of 106 mph as Stivason allegedly drove into oncoming traffic and around blind curves, putting other drivers at risk.

The chased ended about 52 miles later when Stivason drove into a snowbank.

Stivason was arrested, along with his passenger Kristina Ferree, who both had outstanding warrants, documents state.

Stivason was wanted in Flathead County for a felony drug charge. In that case, he was pulled over by law enforcement in Kalispell in January 2021, again with Ferree as the passenger, documents state.

During the stop, officers allegedly found baggies of meth in Stivason’s jacket.
