Alexander 'Alex' 'Al' Theadore Fichter, 86
Alexander “Alex” “Al” Theadore Fichter passed away on Feb. 19, 2022, at his Kila home.
Alex was born on April 30, 1935, to Christ Fichter and Margret Roll in Taylor, North Dakota. He got his education in a one-room school in Taylor- North Dakota. After graduating from the eighth grade, he went to work for ranchers and farmers until he joined the Navy in September of 1954. He was stationed in San Diego until his reassignment to the U.S. Naval Torpedo Station in Keyport. Washington. After leaving the Navy, on Oct. 20, 1958, he married Beatrice Jirges in Dickinson, North Dakota. He worked for a dairy farmer in Taylor. He had three boys, Duane born in 1960, Sidney born in 1961, and Marvin born in 1963.
In April of 1964, Alex moved his family to Kalispell. He was a mechanic at Russ and Don's Conoco and then worked at Evergreen Texaco until he became disabled from a work-related injury.
Alex enjoyed camping, fishing and playing pool with his family and friends. Alex was the type of person who had to stay busy doing things or helping his children and friends. He loved his boys and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by one brother Richard, and sister Josie. He is also survived by his three boys, Duane of Kila, and Sidney of Kila and his two children Rebecca of Seattle — Rebecca is expecting her first child — Brian of Kila and great-grandchildren Tabytha and Ellie jo of Kalispell, and Marvin of Evans, Colorado. He will be missed by his family and friends.
In the spring, Mom and Dad will take their final fishing trip to the place they enjoyed fishing and camping. Alex requested no services as he was cremated.
