Louella Dean Murry Keeney, 83

| February 22, 2022 12:00 AM

Louella Dean Murry Keeney went to her home in heaven on Feb. 17, 2022.

Louella was born on April 11, 1938, in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, to Lysander Doni Hamilton and Ella Mae Hamilton (Spears). She had nine siblings.

On Sept. 10, 1955, Louella married the love of her life, Jimmy Wayne Murry, in Hughson, California. They had four children, Timothy, Rhonda, Kindal and Tamra. Jim and Louella pastored churches in California, Colorado and Oregon, before moving to Columbia Falls in 1983, where they started and pastored Flathead Christian Fellowship. There they formed a church band, mainly consisting of them and a few of their children, called One Accord. The songs they recorded together will be treasured for generations to come.

Jim Murry went to be with the Lord on Sept. 11, 1994. Louella eventually remarried in August 2009 to Roscoe Keeney, who passed away in 2014.

While Louella loved gardening, flowers and sparkly jewelry, she will always be remembered with a guitar in her hand, singing to the Lord. Louella was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, mentor, and “aunt Lou” to so many. Louella’s first love was always Jesus and her love for the Lord was evident in every piece of her life and to everyone she came in contact with.

Louella was preceded into death by her parents, Lysander and Ella Hamilton; husbands, Jim Murry and Roscoe Keeney; and siblings, Hobert, Ethel, Frank, Raymond, Lysander Jr., Wilma and Clyde.

Louella is survived by her children, Timothy (Sandy) Murry, Rhonda (Jim) Frederick, Kindal (Bonni) Murry, and Tamra (John) Tveit; loved and unofficially adopted Connie (Andy) Dormaier;16 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Jimmy and Hazel.

In her final moments, Louella was praising the Lord and telling her family to remember what she taught them about Jesus.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Louella’s honor to Trinity Fellowship International, at P.O. Box 80, Rapid City, SD 57709.

Services will be held Saturday, Feb. 26, at Fellowship Alliance Church in Columbia Falls, with viewing at 12:30 p.m. followed by the service at 2 p.m.
