Raymond Zimmerman, 96

| February 23, 2022 12:00 AM

Friday, Feb. 19, 2022, our Dad peacefully left this earth to join his beautiful wife, mother, father and sister in heaven.

He was born Aug. 17, 1925, the second of four children.

Farming truly was his life. Dad was raised, worked, and later raised his family along with his wife, Helen, on the family farm in Creston most of his entire life. He never shied away from hard work. Still there were good, funny and interesting stories told from this lifetime on the farm. He also served on Flathead County Noxious Weed & Equity Supply boards, along with selling fire insurance part time.

When time allowed, some of his favorite pastimes were huckleberry picking, hiking, fishing, learning to fly a plane, and he was always ready for a Sunday afternoon picnic. Dad was also a very talented woodworker. If anyone needed something built, he could do it. Yet, he was happiest on his tractor on the farm.

Raymond was preceded in death by his wife Helen, father Valentine, mother Alice, and sister Evelyn Mattheisen.

He is survived by his sister Jean Grainger (Farley), brother Allen Zimmerman (Nancy), daughter Aleta Hall (Bill), son Ron Zimmerman (Kelley), and daughter Jani Dryden (Ron), six grandchildren, Andrea Hall, Tyler Hall (Stephanie) Kerah Harmon (John), Kadie Chambers (Weston), Kyren Zimmerman, Kasidy Zimmerman and April Randall (Jason), 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

We will miss you, Dad. Now you can rest in eternal peace.

Special thanks to Buffalo Hill Terrace staff.

Service will be held Friday, Feb. 25, at 10 a.m. at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home.
