James Joseph Duval, 73

James Joseph Duval, 73, of Kalispell, passed away Nov. 5, 2021, at Logan Health Medical Center.

He was born Aug. 12, 1948, to Leon and Anita (Savageau) Duval in Shelby and later raised in Kalispell. James met the love of his life, Carol, and soon after in 1981 the two married in Columbia Falls. Together they would raise four sons.

James would work at Stoltze Lumber for the next 42 years, but his true passions were working on old cars, camping, and traveling, especially on water in various boats, although none of those meant a thing if he wasn’t spending time with his family.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Lee, David, Joanne, Rose, Celia, Sally and Bea.

He is survived by his loving wife Carol; sons Brent (Brandi), Jason (Susan), Aaron (Mitzi), and Justin (Shawna); brother Clarence; sister Mary Ann; several nieces and nephews, 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Jan.8, 2022, at Canvas Church. A reception will follow the service at the Eagles in Kalispell. Buffalo Hill Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for the family.
