Converse, Moy lead Bravettes over Butte

BUTTE — Clare Converse scored 16 points, Maddy Moy added 14 and the Flathead Braves made it five straight wins Friday, holding off Butte 50-44 in Western AA girls’ basketball.

Converse hit two 3-pointers for the Bravettes (5-0 overall, 1-0 in league), including one in a frenetic third quarter. After Akilah Kubi scored to put Flathead up 46-37 with 2:30 left, it became a free throw contest.

Butte fared a little better at the line but no closer than 46-42, with just under a minute left.

Flathead stays on the road today to play at Missoula Sentinel.
