A new record for the number of babies delivered at Logan Health Whitefish was set in 2021.

The Whitefish Birth Center delivered 610 babies between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2021, the most in the hospital’s 116-year history.

The previous record of 582 babies in 2016.

“Our Birth Center’s labor and delivery teams work closely alongside providers to make every family’s birth experience personalized providing person-centered care in a serene environment,” said Amy Vanterpool chief clinical officer at Logan Health Whitefish. “Mothers and families from our communities benefit from our caring and experienced nurses who all receive extensive, ongoing training in emergency procedures and progressive techniques. We are excited to serve our growing communities.”

The record fell well before the end of December. It was broken on Dec. 16, 2021 as baby number 583 was born.

Additionally, the Whitefish hospital welcomed its first baby on the New Year, Ella Butterfly, born Jan. 1, 2022, at 1:42 a.m. She is the second child of Milyn Lazyboy and John Butterfly of Browning.
