Loggers surge past Whitefish boys

WHITEFISH — Caden Williams scored 17 points, Tyler Andersen added 15 and the Libby Loggers surged ahead in the second quarter to beat Whitefish 54-38 in Northwest A boys basketball action.

Andersen scored seven points in the second quarter and six more in the third, helping the Loggers build a 41-26 lead.

Logan Conklin’s nine points led Whitefish.

TROY — Eureka’s Gavin Bates exploded for 36 points in an 87-18 win in Troy on Friday.

Bates sank eight field goals, six 3-pointers and two free throws for the Lions, who led 48-9 at the half.

Danny Dunn added 14 points and Joey Kindel scored seven.

For Troy, Paxton Fisher paced Troy with eight points.
