Business becomes major sponsor of Whitefish Trail
Local Whitefish business HeartStone Advisors has pledged $50,000 as a Legacy Sponsor to support Whitefish Legacy Partners and the Whitefish Trail for years to come.
With an increased interest in outdoor recreation, rising development pressure, and a growing need for front country recreation opportunities, HeartStone Advisor’s generous giving of $10,000 per year for five years is a long-term investment in the future of our local lands.
The Whitefish Trail is a donor-supported project that seeks innovative solutions on the lands surrounding Whitefish for the benefit of high-quality recreation, wildlife, water quality, working forests and permanent public access. With 47-miles of trail accessed by 15 close-to-town trailheads, the Whitefish Trail connects the community to our surrounding open lands.
“We are excited to have HeartStone Advisors join our team as a Legacy Sponsor,” said Alan Davis, WLP director of development. “Their long-term commitment will help support future phases of trail development, conservation projects, and free outdoor education programming on the Whitefish Trail. With such a recent increase in trail use and development pressure, their gift helps ensure future generations will have the same opportunities we enjoy today.”
“Since moving to Whitefish almost a decade ago, we have found the Whitefish Trail to be a distinguishing resource for the community,” added Al Matarazzo, managing partner for HeartStone Advisors. “WLP has given us so much. They have protected our most beautiful lakes and landscapes, and the trail itself is the perfect spot for a trail run, a mountain bike ride, or a quick walk for our three pups. We benefit from the Whitefish Trail almost every day and becoming a Legacy Sponsor seemed like the perfect way for our family business to give back.”
HeartStone Advisors joins Whitefish Credit Union as Legacy Sponsors of the Whitefish Trail; three more Legacy Sponsorships remain. WLP hopes to fill these positions in 2022.
