Cawdrey Gallery features two artists at upcoming events
Cawdrey Gallery in Whitefish is hosting an artist reception for award-winning cowboy artist Jason Rich from 5 to 7 p.m. July 12.
With over two decades of success and recognition in prestigious organizations, shows, events and elite Western Art publications, Rich is joining the gallery as a new artist.
The public is invited to meet him and learn about his process and experience in the Western Art world. Enjoy live music from Todd Pyke, complimentary appetizers, and light refreshments.
During tonight’s Whitefish Gallery Nights Art Walk from 6 to 9 p.m., Whitefish artist Lavonne Burgard will be showing her pieces at the Cawdrey Gallery. Stop by for some light refreshments and snacks and meet the artist.
Burgard creates acrylic on canvas paintings that blur the line between representational and abstract, leaving much to the viewer’s imagination to fill in, using a brayer normally employed in printmaking to depict evocative scenes with a limited color palette.
Burgard retired from 31 years of teaching art. Her career spanned Iowa, Arizona, South Dakota, Australia, and School District 5 of Kalispell.
