Longtime Kalispell artist shares her ‘Places & Memories’

| July 7, 2022 12:00 AM

Phillips Studio & Gallery is hosting a special exhibition of paintings by Kalispell artist Marsha Davis. “Places & Memories” is a collection of some of Davis’ favorite places to paint. She has made it a lifelong challenge to capture some of the spectacular beauty of these places by repainting, revisiting and reworking the pieces in this collection.

Davis, a landscape, figurative, and still life artist, works in watercolor and oils painting in the style of Impressionistic Realism. She is an award-winning Signature member of the Tucson Plein Air Painters, the Montana Watercolor Society, and an Associate Member of the Oil Painters of America.

Davis moved to Kalispell in 1972 with her husband, Dr. Jack Davis (who helped create the ALERT emergency helicopter service based at Kalispell Regional Hospital) and together raised two kids and a herd of Limousin cattle on their ranch.

Both she and her husband have been involved in the local community and have traveled to Mexico together for charitable work. Jack was working with a Rotary project in the schools while Marsha taught art to the children.

“Places & Memories” will remain on view and available to purchase through July 30 at the gallery in the Kalispell Center Mall.
