Billings blanks AA Lakers

BILLINGS — The Billings Royals went ahead early to beat the Kalispell AA Lakers 5-0 in the first game of a twin bill on Friday.

Billings scored three runs in the second inning and added two more in the sixth.

The Lakers had six hits, including three from Oscar Kallis, who also singled in the second inning.

Billings pitcher Jaiden Turner went the distance, striking out five and walking two batters.

Kostya Hoffman took the loss for the Lakers, walking one and striking out three in three innings.
