BELGRADE — Eli Cloninger’s RBI double gave Havre the lead for good, and the Northstars went on to down the Glacier Twins in a State A Legion loser-out game Friday.

The Twins, coming off a tough extra-inning loss Thursday to host Belgrade, built a 3-1 lead in this one. It held up until the fourth inning, when a pair of errors and Cloninger’s double fueled a five-run outburst. Glacier finished its season 34-12.

Kale Vancampen hit an RBI triple and scored on Cloninger’s single to push the Northstars’ lead to 8-3 in the fifth. Kale Reno pitched into the seventh inning for Havre (33-20-1), allowing six hits and two walks. He fanned one.

Josiah Ruther hit an RBI single and Jake McIntyre and Mason Peters provided run-scoring grounders in the second inning, when the Twins took their lead.

Havre is set to play the Butte Miners on Saturday, with a game time to be determined. The Miners and Belgrade Bandits squared off in Friday’s nightcap.
